Complete D50 Guide Errata Page The following are the known errata for version 1.06 as of 10/4/06.

Errata for Version 1.06:

p. 9: "it's critical components" should be "its critical components."

p. 28: "see the viewfinder" should be "see in the viewfinder..."

p. 35: "last at some" should be "last look at some..."

p. 40: The correct URL is http://www.bythom.com/lensacronyms.htm, not lensabbreviations.

p. 57: "there battery designs are..." should be "their battery designs are..."

p. 96 : "To remove a Compact Flash card..." should be "To remove a Secure Digital card..."

p. 140: "CompactFlash" should be "Secure Digital"

p. 169: "usually should usually" should be "should usually..."

p. 177: "BD70####.BIN" should be "BD50####.BIN..."

p. 198: "Set CSM #3 to AF-C or AF-A" should be "Set CSM #2 to..." (three places).

p. 232: The chart for the bracketing has wrong values listed. Should be "over, normal, and under" then "over and under"

p. 237: You can't set exposure compensation in Manual exposure mode (pressing the button changes apertures). Remove the section that speaks to this--it only pertains to the D70 and higher body styles.

p. 288: "this is enough sharpening" should be "this isn't enough sharpening..."

p. 298: "this is six seconds" should be "this is eight seconds..."

p. 316: "to set determine" should be "to determine..."

p. 322: The key descriptions are reversed: use up/down for information pages, left/right for browsing through pictures.

p. 336: There is no Hide Image option on the D50 (there is on other Nikon DSLRs).

p. 362: "but at extremes may vary the shutter" should be "but at extremes may vary the aperture..."

p. 363: There's a missing table:

p. 366: Step 5a should reference CSM #14, not CSM #15.

p. 375: "break additional lights" should be "break out additional lights."

p. 449: "photographers used to..." should be "for photographers used to..."

p. 606: Remove the EC-AD1 PC Card Adapter as it doesn't apply to Secure Digital.

Section on Secure Digital cards: the D50 has a 2GB size limit. The statements about FAT32 in this section are correct, but the D50 doesn't support FAT32. So, don't buy any card larger than 2GB for your D50, at least not until Nikon updates their firmware for the camera to support them.
