Thom Spring Cleaning, 2010

Don't hesitate! 19 of 21 items sold

Hey, it's Spring again and for the second consecutive year I'm actually getting around to my yearly Spring cleaning in Spring. Welcome to ThomBay, where there are no auctions and items disappear faster than you can bid on them anyway.

Every year I clean the office and get rid of items that aren't getting a lot of use, or which I no longer need.

Here's how this works: first come, first served. US and Canadian orders only, please (please identify yourself as Canadian when you email, it makes it easier to know which items need to have a discussion about shipping options). Sending any of this stuff overseas adds paperwork, complexity, and hassle, and I'm trying to make this simple and fast for me. I'll update this page as often as possible so that the items on it are still likely to be available.

  1. If you see something below that you'd like, send me an email indicating you'd like to purchase it. All items have an item number just in front of them. Please make sure you include this so that I don't get confused on similar items. Unless otherwise indicated, the prices below include regular USPS or Ground shipping (and insurance for items over $200) in the US unless otherwise noted (for faster shipping, you'll need to supply me with your FedEx or UPS account number). All items are sent with delivery confirmation, and expensive items are generally shipped with signature required and will require further verification prior to shipment. Canadian residents may need to pay additional shipping for some items, will have things shipped via Postal Service or UPS, and there will be a correct customs form on the box (don't ask me to change the amount paid, it's illegal to do so). What you see on the Customs Form is what you paid, period.
  2. If you're the first to email me about purchasing the item, I'll send you the information that'll allow you to complete the purchase (credit cards will be accepted through PayPal).
  3. When payment is received, the item gets shipped the following Wednesday when my assistant comes in to do shipping. If payment isn't received in a timely fashion, I'll put the item back up for sale.

I've tried to provide a short, accurate description of each item. If you have a question about an item, feel free to email me, but remember, this is first-come, first-served. I expect many of these items to go very quickly, so asking questions decreases the chance that you'll get an item, unfortunately. Note that I've priced my things below what I'd likely get off an eBay auction (especially once you consider that shipping is included). Those that have dealt with me before know that this stuff is in great shape and that I often throw free surprises into the box.

Thom items still available:

  • h4: Nikon D3. Thom's original D3, moderate use, in excellent condition. Includes all Nikon supplied goodies except manual--you'll get my better manual instead. Reason for selling: switched to the D3s. $3199 includes shipping.
  • h12: Ricoh GX-100. Perfect shape, like new in box, includes electronic viewfinder. Reason for selling: using m4/3 bodies for compact, portable solution. $289 includes shipping.

Items already spoken for are shown below with strikethroughs, and I've moved them away from the items still left so it will be move obvious what's still available. I've completely removed the items that have been paid for and have no chance of being made reavailable.

Thom's items sold but payment still pending:

  • h1: Ektachrome FILM!. 20 Rolls Ektachrome Slide Duplicating Film, 36 exp, dated 8-1992. All film has been kept refrigerated since acquisition, but caveat emptor. Nevertheless, I suspect the film is fine--it's still in original sealed pack. Reason for selling: I don't do slide duplication any more. $30 includes shipping.
  • h8: Pelican 1490 Laptop case. Perfect shape. Fits 15" laptops plus a lot of accessories, and gives them hard shell protection. Reason for selling: weight/baggage restrictions on airlines forced me to find a lighter solution. $69 includes shipping.
  • h9: Archos9 PCTablet. Perfect shape, like new. Windows 7-based 9" tablet computer (1024x600 pixels). 1GB RAM, 60GB drive, WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Webcam, 5 hr battery, 800 grams. Reason for selling: iPad fits my Mac-based environment better. $349 includes shipping.
