Nikon today announced their new pro camera model, the D4. The D4 will be available in mid-to-late February at US$6000. Nikon is demonstrating the new camera at PMA, amongst other places.
Rather than rush my analysis of the new camera, I'm going to wait until Monday to publish a full description and commentary on the camera. As usual with Nikon, there's a lot of good news and a bit of bad. While the outside of the camera isn't much changed, the list of internal changes is very extensive, and it's easy to overlook significant new features (completely silent photography mode, for instance).
My initial assessment: the D4 looks like a nice iteration of the Nikon pro DSLR. Lots more on Monday.
